Similar in conception and technique to the two impressed Garnet Pavatea pots in the collection, this small bowl is beautifully proportioned and finished.
While the technique for creating the design has been called “corrugated,” this is only an impression and not a description of the process of creating this pot. Here the coils used to form the pot have been smoothed out and then the impressed design added. A true corrugated pot (see 1998-07 and 2012-10
) is formed of coils that are smoothed out on the interior but left exposed on the exterior.
