Poolie was one of the “fine potters” mentioned by Katharine Bartlett, 1936:96 in an article about Hopi pottery. Poolie’s pottery was also used by Harold Colton to survey firing temperatures (1951:75).

The design of 2009-11 is quite similar to 1997-07 and reflects a traditional Zuni/Polacca ware design (see 1994-14) that was generally displaced by Sikyatki Revival pottery.
