Ms. Wahnetah (1907-1986) lived in Cherokee (Swain County) North Carolina and began making traditional pit-fired, incised Cherokee pots in the 1940s. She was a well-known potter who learned from her mother and passed on her knowledge to her daughter Charlotte Wahnetah Maney.

Purchased in June 1969 outside of Smoky Mountain National Park.
