This is a small, but elegant, seedjar.
Becky and I had visited Stella Huma at her home in Polacca in December 1983 and I spent considerable time talking with her in her booth at Indian Market in 1986, where I purchased this jar. She won “Best of Category” for a large seed jar that year and I waited at her booth for it to open hoping to buy the prize-winning jar. However, it had already been purchased by one of the judges.
Thirty-nine years later I was able to buy seedjar 2025-12, which [if my memory is accurate] is close to identical to the prize-winning jar.
Earlier pots by Stella are signed with her name but lacking the appellation “Poivee,” [“Flower Girl”], which she added later.
