Hopi yellow-ware vase, Sikyatki design elements, by Anita Polacca. Bowl signed and noted as fired on 5/15/91, which was a very windy day. Because of the wind, this pot cracked, has a fire cloud, and is unevenly colored yellow/orange — a good example of a poorly fired pot. Ms. Polacca is now 62, exactly twice as old as when I bought my first pot from her in 1960. (See 1960-01.)

Purchase History:
Purchased on 5/18/91 from Ms. Polacca, in her home in Schomovi, First Mesa. Deacquisitioned as a gift.
