Hopi-Tewa stirrup pot by Nyla Sahmie. Like her sisters Rachel and Jean, I think Nyla is one of the most creative potters working today. Somehow, these daughters of Priscilla both stay rooted in tradition and yet open to trying new designs and forms; the shape of this unusual pot exemplifies this.
