Small pot with eagle tail and triangular design, squared off opening by Lillian Gonzales Namingha, with D. Fritz. The painting is very precise and the firing very even.
Lillian is the sister of Dextra Quorskuyva (1998-03) and Priscilla Namingha (1991-05, 1993-03 and 2003-03); both are well-known, productive potters. Until recently she had not been as prolific a potter as these sisters. Bowl 2002-01 also carries the lizard clan designation of her husband, who works with her on her pottery. Two other sisters, Ruth James (2008-07) and Eleanor Lucas (2009-23) have made little pottery.
