Like some early Twentieth Century mixing bowls with grocery store decals, this unusual pot advertises “Hopi Tribe; Old Oraibi” as part of its decoration, which also includes an image of a turtle and a lizard.

I have seen the signature with this stylized “GS” used to spell out the name “G. Sehongva, Old Oraibi” so that I have confidence knowing the name of the maker of this pot.  I know nothing about the potter other than her name and village, however.
