Although this figure was probably made in the 1980s, such tourist pieces were made as early as the 1880s. Hayes & Blom (1996:157) suggest that pink clay figures (like 2003-12) were probably made in Jemez, while very similar figures from Tesuque are generally formed from gray clay.
